Invitation (Flash file, Large)
Schedule:
Posters:
It has been confirmed that the size of the poster boards is 4' (high) x 8' (wide) (1.2 m x 2.4 m). The boards are felt covered and thus you can attach posters using push pins or velcro. Please remember that posters are to be left up for all day Monday and Tuesday.
Platform Presenters:
You are urged to bring your own laptop to attach to the presentation system. This is typically your best option as you will KNOW that your presentation will work correctly.A Windows XP laptop will be available. Please bring your presentations on a CD or on a memory stick (USB drive; thumb drive) and we will load it onto the laptop for presentations. Be aware that presentations created on a Mac may not work properly. We will have staff who will help you get ready for your talk. We strongly recommend that you are prepared to go onto the stage to load your presentation while the person before you is speaking. Please check in with the Student Host to be directed to the correct podium.
For those presenting at the Tech Fair, we strongly recommend that you use your own laptops. No internet connection will be available during your presentation.
Clothing:
This year's meeting is at a resort during the summer. For day time events, we strongly recommend "resort casual" clothing. We recommend collared shirts for meeting sessions. Swim wear and sun bathing wear are not permitted in the meeting rooms.
For the Banquet, we recommend "resort formal" clothing. For gentlemen, this would include dress slacks and a collared shirt.
At all events, tie and jacket are optional for gentlemen.
One other point, the weather is likely to be over 100 degrees F (38 degrees C). Therefore, be aware that you should wear loose light clothing and/or plenty of sunscreen. When you come inside, there will be air conditioning. The indoor air conditioning will likely be kept in the mid-to-low 70 degree F (22-24 degrees C) range. This is a significant change in temperature and indoors may feel very cold. So, light sweaters or similar clothing may be necessary for those who are prone to feel cold. |
